Many people don’t realize that to work in the schools speech language pathologists have to have a student teaching experience. I certainly didn’t know that when I first started looking into the profession because I thought the profession of speech-language pathology was only medically-based in clinic or hospital settings. But in graduate school I found out about school-based speech therapy and I completed my student teaching in Chicago Public Schools. SPOILER ALERT: I had a great experience and I wanted to tell you all about it!
