Locating Bilingual Speech Therapy Materials

Finding speech therapy materials in English and Spanish can be hard. That is something many of my customers have shared with me over the years. I know that feeling when you work with a student or client and you don’t have what they need. What’s worse is that you don’t even have a clue where to look to find those resources! That’s why I created Bilingual Speech Therapy Resources.

Bilinguals in the Speech Room

Typically I work in Spanish with my bilingual students. There are a lot of reasons for that. First of all, my students need a strong foundation in their native language to be able to communicate functionally in their lives. Additionally, I typically work in conjunction with monolingual English SLPs. That means that the students I end up having on my caseload are Spanish dominant or the ones who need the Spanish support more than others. I have learned through taking coursework to get my ESL and bilingual endorsements that all bilingual students deserve support in their native languages. However, due to staffing shortages, it can be difficult to have the personal to give every student that support.

Speech Therapy Materials in English and Spanish

Speech therapy materials that I create are in Spanish and English. Yes, that means I have a set in English and a set in Spanish. I like to keep things separate because I don’t want my Spanish speakers to jump into English until they are ready. And like I said before, my Spanish speakers need that Spanish support.

All that to say, this membership is made for you to work with students who speak Spanish and English. Also, if you are a monolingual SLP, this membership is still worthwhile for you because there are tons of materials in English as well.
