Treating students with apraxia in a Spanish-speaking context presents unique challenges and requires specialized resources. Apraxia, a motor speech disorder, affects the ability to coordinate the necessary movements for speech production. To effectively support these students’ speech development and communication skills, it is crucial to have appropriate materials and resources specifically designed for the Spanish language.
As a bilingual speech therapist, I was faced with the task of treating students with apraxia in a Spanish-speaking environment. I encountered a significant hurdle – the lack of readily available materials and resources specifically for this purpose. Determined to provide the best support for my students, I decided to create a comprehensive Spanish Apraxia Therapy resource that would address my student’s unique needs.
Understanding the Teaching of Reading in Spanish
After years of observing the teaching methods used in Spanish-speaking classrooms, I gained valuable insights into how reading is taught in the Spanish language. Understanding this method is crucial in developing effective therapy resources for students with apraxia. By designing this resource so that it corresponds to the specific techniques and strategies used in Spanish-language classrooms, therapists that use it can provide targeted interventions that reinforce and complement the student’s learning experiences.
Introducing the Spanish Apraxia Bundle
This bundle is special because it contains both print and digital products. The print products included come with a black-and-white and a colored version of the materials. The black-and-white resource is meant for easy printing and take-home practice while the colored version allows SLPs to have beautifully designed flashcards that can be printed, laminated, and used again and again.

See What Others Are Saying
“This is a great resource! I’ve used it multiple times with different students and the quality is wonderful! This seller is my new go-to for multilingual resources.” -Toby D.
“Love this resource! My students love pointing to the visuals for each syllable. The visuals also reduced the amount of direct imitation in each session. I love that there were also practice pages to work on full words and that the words were appropriate targets–not always the case with English or Spanish resources.” -Rebecca W.
“So good for my young Spanish-speaking kids with apraxia. It was exactly what I needed. Early developing sounds to practice. I use this in so many fun ways!” -Kristine P.
