50 Thoughts Speech Paths Have During Back-to-School Time!

About me

I’ve had so many thoughts as I entered the school building these past few days. Some good, some bad, and some ugly. It’s my tenth back to school time so I’ve seen a lot! As I wrote down all the thoughts I’ve had this August, I thought about all of the 10 previous years I’ve gone back to school. It’s been a wild ride!

  1. I hope I still have a room to work in! Fingers crossed it’s not a closet.
  2. I hope that I stay at my same school…
  3. I don’t want to sit through reading training!
  4. All I want to do is sit in my room, plan my caseload and read IEPs…please.
  5. I need more materials…
  6. I hope no one stole my materials I packed away at school.
  7. Administrators, could you send an email instead of holding a meeting?
  8. I think I need some new shoes.
  9. I definitely need a pedicure.
  10. Why not get my hair done while I’m at it?
  11. Where IS my stapler?
  12. Wait a moment, where’s my laptop?
  13. I need coffee!!
  14. No, better yet I need water!
  15. I can’t wait to see Ms Matterhorn again!
  16. My phone is going to die! I forgot to plug it in last night!
  17. It’s cold in here! Where’s my jean jacket?
  18. Where’s my Guess Who?
  19. Oops, I left all those stickers in my trunk!
  20. I think I forgot the pledge of allegiance.
  21. Sweet, the new gym teacher is hot.
  22. What is my password to log on again??
  23. I must have my favorite purple pen again or I’ll be mad!
  24. Where’s my Tylenol?
  25. I forgot to go to the eye doctor this summer! Ugh
  26. The staff bathroom smells funny!
  27. Did someone forget to empty the speech room’s garbage?!
  28. My speech room needs more glam! It’s so drab.
  29. That 99 cent border I scored at the dollar store will be *perfect* in here!
  30. Please don’t let me get my period on the first day of school!
  31. Oh no, I had lettuce in my teeth all afternoon and no one said anything!
  32. Can’t WAIT to see my favorite speech kids again this year!
  33. I’m not looking forward to seeing that other kiddo though…
  34. I forgot to put my fork in my lunch bag!
  35. That table needs to be wiped and I don’t have spray or paper towel…
  36. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a plant on my desk? Too bad it would die.
  37. Hmm, where did I put the CELF? I hope the janitors didn’t toss it.
  38. I wonder if there are donuts in the teachers lounge…
  39. Maybe the librarian will let me print from her printer again…who am I kidding, she won’t.
  40. Gotta plug in my school-issued iPad. It died over the summer from lack of use.
  41. I know I’m in one school this year, but I still need my rolling bag!
  42. God, I hope Mrs Jones will be nice and make scheduling easier than last year.
  43. Of course my summer was restful, silly!
  44. Better buy some snacks for my desk drawers at the grocery store on the way home!
  45. How did I miss the fact that the new assistant principal has a terrible lisp?
  46. How in the world will I get all of these kids scheduled?
  47. How long can I put off calling that mom?
  48. Should I have worked in a clinical setting?
  49. Look at all of those sweet faces arriving on the first day!
  50. I love this job! 💋

You are hilarious! I love the vice principal lisp, coffee-no water, and eye doctor comment. We must have the same brain.
