I have been lucky in my career: I have worked with some of the best bilingual families around. The only downside is that I didn’t have any handouts or material in Spanish to give to parents at meetings to help them understand what is happening during the evaluation process. So I have had to convey everything during the meeting and we all know that it is difficult to explain everything during a meeting. Meetings are only so long and parents can only absorb so much information before they hit a “saturation point.”
