This video breaks down how to use Boom cards using Zoom screen share. I walk you through how I use Boom cards and as an example I tell you how to use my free esource (Wash Your Hands Boom). Boom cards are fun and kids love interacting with them!
How to Use Boom Cards
Boom cards from the Boom Learning website are a great way to engage students in learning. Kids love because of how interactive the boom cards are.
First you need to have an account. Make a teacher account. If you are a working with students in a small group or in individually, you can share your computer with them so they can use them directly. You do not need to use the FastPin feature.
FastPin Tutorial
FastPin is a feature made for classroom teachers to send a boom card directly to a student so they can play the boom card independently. FastPins can be sent to students at home as well. If you are an SLP working in a small group or individually, no need to use that feature.
Zoom and Boom Cards
If you are working in teletherapy, you can use features inside of Zoom to share your screen with your students. Your students will look at your screen to see the boom cards. If your participants are using a standard laptop or computer, they have the ability to use remote control. You can give your students remote control.
If you are working with students who use a Chromebook or an iPad to connect during teletherapy, there is no way to give them remote control to activate the features of Boom cards
