The “Seesaw App” is a Game Changer
I’m here to tell you that Seesaw is an absolute godsend if you are doing online or teletherapy because it can be used live in your sessions and also used to send homework too. It’s so useful — it’s actually life changing!! Trust me!
So Seesaw has both a web app and an app for both Apple (iPad) and on Google Play. I have used it as a web app, which means it is a “web application” and accessible in a web browser (like Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc).
In this video I go through how to use Seesaw for you as an SLP, but I also touch on how members of your team like special educators, OTs, PTs, and social workers can incorporate the materials on the platform in teletherapy. It seems like many of us will be working digitally with students due to the pandemic, if we aren’t already. You will love Seesaw and setting up an account is F-R-E-E!! What is the Seesaw Class App?
Truthfully, I have not used the iOS iPad app so I cannot comment directly on the usefulness the app for the tablet. However, from what I have seen of it it has the same functionalities of the the web app version that I have used for well over a year. The Seesaw Class app is useful and appears identical to what you see online in your web browser. For example, I can see the journal tab easily.
The Seesaw Class app allows educators to share both in-class work and home work with their students. It’s great if you have students who like to work online and prefer to use an online platform for its interactive features. It’s like putting paper and pencil work online! There are also privacy features that allow students to keep their work to themselves. You can watch my video to see how to use Seesaw, including activating the privacy features.
