Multisyllabic words are often a difficult concept for students who are bilingual to grasp. There are a lot of multisyllabic words in Spanish. Far more, actually, than there are in the English language. This makes it challenging for the bilingual student who has struggles with speech. While working with my students I saw them continually struggle. I wanted to give them more practice with 4 and 5-syllable words. So, I created Spanish Multisyllabic Word Picture Cards.
This multisyllabic word picture cards resource works well with students at the elementary level. Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) can use these during speech therapy sessions, SPED teachers can use them with small groups or individual students, and general education teachers can even use them in their classroom settings! This resource was created to be easy to use and versatile.

How To Use Multisyllabic Word Picture Cards
To use the printable word picture cards, simply choose to print either the colored or black and white version of this resource. I suggest printing the colored cards on a thick paper like card stock. Then laminatw for extra durability and extended use. Your students will love using the colored cards during speech sessions so save them for class or session work.
I like to print the black and white copy for homework practice. This provides parents an idea of what we are practicing in sessions (or class). It also gives them a fun and engaging way of practicing at home using a resource they are already familiar with. Many parents have thanked me for sending these cards home. That’s because they have been extremely helpful to both students and parents practicing two languages.
